Yoga Alliance of Red Deer
Did you know that YARD is the oldest studio in Red Deer? Or that it’s a non-profit organization? The studio first began as More Yoga, which opened in 2000. When it was about to close two years later, the instructors and students decided that they couldn’t let that happen, so they rallied and formed the Yoga Alliance of Red Deer.
That dedication, which the students and instructors showed back in 2002, is the heart and soul of YARD. While our studio has changed and evolved over the years, that heart is still there, and we invite new and continuing students to experience it for themselves.

“After taking a bit of time to finally go through the new website"
I wanted to congratulate YARD, (on their 10th anniversary too), for the very accessible and beautifully designed site. Everything about YARD has grown every year, since I joined so many years ago. I am very honoured to be able to be acquainted with such a dedicated and grounded group of instructors, who have played a most important role in my life. I want to wish you all many more amazing years celebrating the body/mind connection with others. Namaste to all!.”

“Summon Your Power”
I recently participated in Wade Morissette’s workshop “Summon Your Power”, at Y.A.R.D. I had no idea of the life changing events that would unfold as a result. Not only was the yoga great, but Wade’s therapeutic approach invoked an awareness of self-acceptance, love and healing. Immediately following the workshop, family relationships have begun to heal, and continue to move towards a better place. I want to sincerely thank Wade and Y.A.R.D. for their support, love and community. I have truly found my “Inner Bliss.””

"My first time at YARD and it was a pleasure"
Wade’s instruction is such a gift. I marvel at how he seamlessly delivers a combination of asanas, meditation, inner reflection and music. Each segment is woven into the next while keeping everyone’s best interests at the top of his mind; no matter where their staring point is. What a treat to lay in savasana while Wade plays and sings his soothing compositions. The group of people who participated were wonderful, open and engaged. There was definitely a two way exchange of energy, knowledge, wisdom and support. Exceptional people! I could have stayed a week just to get to know them better and be in that loving presence. The studio is a warm and inviting space to practice in. I simply couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks to Wade and to The Yoga Alliance of Red Deer.
